Posting a photo of your new born on social media: Do's or Don't ?

Congratulations you are a parent now! A special chapter in your life is about to begin. And everybody may know that. Euhm wait.... everybody? Well research shows that in less than an hour 62% of the parents post a photo of their newborn on social media. 22% is family and 16% are their friends.
Sharing your pregnancy on facebook is such a normal thing this time of the year. If you want to know if someone is pregnant just find out on facebook. Do you want to know how the babies room looks like just find out online.

Why do we share such an intimate thing to the whole world? Well it's started when baby George was born. And then it was an hype to share your newborn to the world.
But why do we do that?
The reason couples do this is because they can show it to family members and friends a lot easier who lives far away. But even casual acquaintances are aware of the birth of your child immediately. Couples say that they think it's a lot easier to share this all in ones. And people who aren't that close can see a picture of their newborn also.

As a new parent you want to show to the world how beautifull your little baby is. You are happy and full of joy.
But don't upload a picture daily (enjoy eachother)
Send a much intimate picture to your family through whats app or e-mail and not on facebook or instagram.
Think before you post a picture online. You do not want to get a picture under your nose getting birth at a job interview.
Talk to your family and friends if you don't want them to post pictures of your baby online. Just be honest to them.
You can also post a detail. A photo of a foot or hand. So everybody nows your baby is born but it's still a suprise!
And at last something about newborn photoshoots.
It's a trend to make pictures of your baby in special poses. And let's be honest is looks adorable.
But be carefull with who you work with.
Make sure they have the full experience. That they know what they are doing with your newborn, that everything is safe.
Make sure they are using props who are soft and not sharp. It must be safe for your baby they must don't get hurt.
Make sure they will support the babies head because the head is heavy and they can't lift their head.

Just do reasearch before you work with a photographer. It's a special moment for you.
For the dutchies out here I know an amazing photographer who is really great with newborn photography: first edition photography

Further I want to say enjoy your parenting.
Enjoy the times with your little one and your family time.
My time must start... and it will be... very soon. I can't wait to hold the little one in to my arms.
But I wont post a picture of my newborn on facebook.
The most important people get a card from us. And facebook members will see the baby when I feel like it to post something.
I even did not post a photo of the sonogram that we are expecting a baby. They find it out with little quotes or sometimes I post a status with a hospital visit in it.
I don't want to have 100 likes or comments on the photo. They will find it out when I feel like it. haha
But that is a choice what everybody must make of their own.

What would you do? Will you post a photo of your new born online?

TAG: pregnancy questions

Yeah I've found apregnancy tag on madebymalou her blog. How great is that?
After a time of silence because I had to visit the hospital a lot and Last week I was laying in the hospital it's time for a new blogpost. So I start with this one. A tag with pregnancy questions :D.
Enjoy!!!

How many weeks are you now?
35 weeks and 3 days.

How much did you gained weight?
Les then 10 kg's

Maternity Clothing?
I've got 3 jeans. They are comphy but I can't wait to wear my own jeans again. I still fit in my own shirts, skirts or dresses. And I still can wear some jeans of mine (with a lot of stretch in it)

Striae?
Upper legs but I've got them allready.

Sleep?
What is sleep? I feel like a zombie. last week I've layed in the hospital and I get medication so I can sleep for one night. I had really bad cramps. Later they figured out it where contractions. And I had already one centimeter dilated. But that does not mean the baby will arrive very soon. But the cramps get worse by the day and I can't sleep because of that. "So sleep deprived that I am unhappy, tired, confused and pissed off all at the same time. I also look like a zombie so my life is complete."

Beste moments of the week?
Damn this one is hard. because I must rest very often and I'm in pain the most of the time. But I guess the best moments are when my hubby is at home and chear me up and take care of me. He's just the sweetest!

Worst moments of the week?
Hospital visits and pain...

Do you miss something?
Do I need to say more?

Movement?
Not much that's the reason i must visit the hospital so often so they can check up my baby heartbeat.

Food cravings?
Ice, ice, ice and more ice. icecubes, icecream, waterice, slush puppies... Just be cold... I want it!!!

Is there something that makes you feel sickt?
At the beginning of my pregnancy I can't stand the smell of rice or coffee. And now I don't have that any more. I don't know what I think that makes me feel blegh...

Gender?
Just wait a couple of weeks and you will find out!

Ailments?
Bump pain. I've got that my whole pregnancy. My bump is to small for the baby. Well sh*t happends.
At the beginning I was nauseous a lot and my toilet was my best friend.
And now it's the contractions. But just a couple of weeks to go.

Belly button in or out?
Since I removed my piercing: out....

Happy or grumpy?
Most of the time grumpy. because of the pain and bad sleep. But I try to be happy....

Looking forward to?
When i can hold my little baby..
Just came out allready!!!!!

spiced cauliflower from the oven

I love cauliflower and not only with cooked patatoes.
This recipe is very simple and it's such a yummy snack for the evenings.

Preheat the oven on 200 degrees.

What you need is some, olive oil, cauliflower and cajun spices and chilli spices.

I've dipped the cauliflower in the olive oil because the seasoning will stick well on it. If you con't like so much seasoning put the seasoning on it first and then a little bit of olive oil.
Bake this in the oven for about 20 minutes.

Serve with your favourite dip.

Home made Bounty candy bar

We all know the sweet candy chocolate bar bounty. It takes us to a magicall place with white sand beaches, palmtrees and a bleu see.
Now the summer is nearly here a bounty snack taste good with this feeling. Sitting by a pool dreaming away.
Well I must say dream on. There are no white beaches or palmtrees here where I live. Haha.
But how much I love the taste of a tropical coconut, this bounty snack is not that healthy.
So I've made one of my own.

What you've need:
1cup shredded coconut
some drops of stevia
2 tbsp coconut oil
and I've used 80% cacoa chocolate melted
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
silicone ice mold

Combine the shredded coconut, coconut oil, stevia and vanilla extract together.
Press the filling into the ice mold. Freeze this about 30minutes.
Meanwhile melt the chocolate. I've put the chocolate into a little plactic bag and put this in hot water.
Pop the harded coconut treats out of the mold and dip this into the melted chocolate.
Put them back in to the fridge.

Nom Nom Nom tag

I've found another tag!!!! Whoop whoop. And this one I must share with you guys. I've found this tag here: inaflowaroundtheworld
It's a foody tag, and I love food ofcourse.
Are you already curious what my answers are? Then read on......

What do you think that's delicious that others find very nasty? And vice versa?
Well I love spicy food and some people can't handle that haha. But I also love maggi hot. Thats a flavor enhancer mostly used for soup. But i'll eat it whit everything. And no, I don't eat it because I'm pregnant.
I'm not a big meat eater. So I can be very difficult about the kind of meat while eating.

What do you like to cook and far too often?
Call me a fake indo, but I love to cook cooked potatoes with cauliflower. Very Dutchy...
But I also like to cook wok noodles. Because that's fast and healthy. But mostly we try many new things.
And if I have a day off and if I feel like it (that last one is most important) I like to make Indonesian food.
Well here is the Indonesia part of me comming back ;).

In which restaurant you would most like to eat every day?
I love to go to Sumo in Breda. That's a Japanese restaurant.
8 years ago Sumo started in Rotterdam as a small intimate Japanese restaurant. At that time wielded Sumo as one of the first "all you can eat concept" that became immensely popular.
Today's Sumo located throughout the Netherlands from Groningen to Tilburg, and in each branch you can eat Japanese lunch, dinner. There is something for everyone, because they have not only sushi but also grill, fish, meat and vegetarian dishes.
They have a very Asian style and you can sit there very comfertable.  But how much I love sushi. If I 'll eat it every day it will get bored easily.

How would a sandwich named after you, to be called. And what's on it?
The Flaming sandwich? haha I don't know. I think I would take whole grain sandwich with, grilled chicken, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, onion something like that.
I'm not that kind of sandwich eater.

Share a handy cooking tip:
I love to cook really I do. But I'm not that handy.... So I'm sorry I don't have any tips. If you've got one, let me know right.

What else is on your 'Food baking bucket list'?
I've got a lot of things on my baking bucket list. Like: banana oatmeal cookies, chocolate banana bread, choco peanutbutter bars, banana quarck bread and so on..... To many things I want to try out.

What do you prefer? Home cooking, ordering food or out for dinner?
.Home cooking... So you've always know what's in your food. I love to go out for dinner once in a while. But I want to eat as healthy as possible. And cooking can be fun also. Specially if you cook both. It's fun, relaxing, you can talk while your cook. Just make sure you enjoy it.

Are you allergic to anything?
MILK... One glass my body can handle it. But if I drink normal ordenary cow milk every day. Well my guts are getting hypersensitive. So that;s why I drink always soy milk.

What's your foodobsession lately?
Chips while watching a movie. It's a bad craving also (shame on me).

What is your favorite dessert?
I don't like desserts. Mostly we drink a cup of coffee or tea after dinner.
Just give me a bowl of fruit instead of pudding.
But with the nice warm weather I like icecream or water ice.
But not every day. Just give me my damn coffee ok?!

Cherish the moment

Before I will gave you my new recipe for a delicious smoothie, I want to tell you that you must cherish every moment like it is your last.
Sometimes it's very difficult. I know that, I'm in that stage also. Sometimes it's hard to enjoy things in life, stay positive and be strong.
But enjoy the little things. Smile, laugh, I know it's hard sometimes but at least try. laugh your heart out, dance in the rain. Cherish the moment and ignore the pain. Live, laugh, love, forgive and forget. Life's to short to living with regrets.

Now I want to tell you a funny story how I get the waiting room at the gynecologist in full silence.
Well I think it's funny.
A couple of pregnant woman are talking about their 20 weeks ultrasound.
They are hoping that everyting is ok with their baby. I know their feeling I've been their also. Hoping that the baby is healthy and if it got 2 arms and legs and all the fingers etc. That there are no abnormalities. While they where talking I was reading a magazine waiting till my gynecologist is come to get me for my appointment.
They where still talking about it and when my gynecologist come to get me one of the woman asked me out of the blue: "You will also be relieved if you've had the 20 week ultrasound and everything is all right?"
Then I respond without thinking: "I will be glad if I shall be initiated in about 6 weeks".
The whole waiting room was in shock. They where looking at my bump and the looking to me, looking to their bump and again looking at mine.
My gynecologist did not stop laughing.
Just don't judge me by my little baby bump!

And here as promissed my delicious smoothie recipe!

I've had this for lucnh, sitting in the sunshine. Perfect!

What you'll need:

2tbsp greek yoghurt
1/2 cup almond milk
5tbsp flex seeds
10 cherries

Mix everithing in the mixer and your smoothie is done!
Easy peasy.

Healthy brownie without chocolate

Here another healthy brownie recipe, without chocolate!
This is also as yummie as the other brownie made of quinoa. You can find the recipe here.
But this is another recipe and it's just as delicious and tasty.
I love to serve this with raspberries.

So what you need is:
50gram sweet potato
1banana
1egg (only the eggwhites)
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp of oatmeal

Cut the sweet patatoes to small pieces and cook them for 10 minutes.
Then mix all the ingredients together. The easiest way is with a hand blender. Mix everything till you've got a smooth texture.
Grease a small cake mold with coconut oil.
Pour the batter into the mold. Bake it for about 15 till 30 minutes. The brownie is done when you can put a toothpick into the brownie and it will came out dry.

Let it cool down and bon apetit!
